Today we’ve come up with something that will impress most of the cocktail lovers. Yes! Top 10 most expensive cocktails in the world. Its not the ingredients of these cocktails that make them expensive, there is no magical potion that is added in it. Its the ambiance and the brand which makes its price tag tick. So watch out for these titles and try to grab one and amaze your neighbors. Here comes top 10 most expensive cocktails.

1. Martini-on-the-Rock


Place: The Blue Bar, Algonquin Hotel

City: New York

Price: $10,000

Martini-on-the-Rock comes with a single piece of ice — a diamond from the in-house jeweler. It is the only one martini you must order 72 hours in advance, so that you could pre-select your diamond. The price of the cocktail varies depending on the diamond selected. Since 2004 only two have been ordered, one of them for a marriage proposal. Martini tops the list of top 10 most expensive cocktails.

2.Diamond Cocktail

The Piano Bar at the Sheraton Park Tower Hotel in London offers one the world’s most expensive drink, the £4,000 Louis XIII Diamond Cocktail. The price of this champagne cocktail depends the quality of the gemstone. The cocktail represents a blend of cognacs — some of which retails for $1,750 per bottle. The exceptional flavor is guaranteed. Standing second in the list of top 10 most expensive cocktails, it has a good tag of $4350 compared to the martini.

Ingredients:Charles Heidsieck Vintage 2001 Champagne, Remy Martin Louis XIII cognac, Angostura bitters, Sugar cube, Your choice of a diamond or ruby.

3. Sapphire Martini

City: Connecticut

Price: $3,000

There is a zest that turns this cocktail from an ordinary one into something special. The drink contains Bombay Sapphire Gin, Blue Curacao and a splash of dry vermouth. It is served in a glass rimmed with blue sugar and garnished with blue sapphire and diamond earrings.

Ingredients: Bombay Sapphire gin, Blue curaçao, a dash of dry vermouth, blue sugar (for the rim of the glass), platinum-mounted diamond and sapphire earrings.

4. Platinum Passion


Place: Duvet

City: New York

Price: $1,500

The Duvet restaurant’s signature cocktail may leave you flat on your back. Platinum Passion is a blend of L’ésprit de Courvoisier, Ruinart champagne and a special syrup that uses passionfruit, forest berries, wildflower honey. The drink is served in a champagne flute and garnished with a white orchid. Passion stands 4th in the top 10 most expensive cocktails list.

Ingredients: L’Esprit de Courvoisier, Squeeze of lemon, Syrup of passion fruit, forest berries, wildflower honey, and brown sugar, fill with Ruinart Champagne.

5. Mai Tai


Place: The Merchant HotelCity: Belfast

Price: $1,400

“Maita’i” in Tahitian means “good.” There are many recipes for mai tais. The Original Trader Vic Formula dates back to 1944. It sounds like this: 2 oz of 17-year old J. Wray & Nephew Rum over shaved ice, add juice from one fresh lime, 1/2 oz Holland DeKuyper Orange Curacao, 1/4 oz Trader Vic’s Rock Candy Syrup, 1/2 oz French Garnier Orgeat Syrup, shake vigorously, add a sprig of fresh mint. Now there exist innumerable recipes for this cocktail.

6. High Roller Martini

Occupying the sixth place in the top 10 most expensive cocktails list the High Roller, named for the Vegas Strip, includes a diamond pave ring. For each cocktail sold, about $500 goes to Share our Strength, a charity that battles hunger around the globe. Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka, 3/4 oz Grand Marnier® orange liqueur, 2 – 3 drops grenadine syrup 4 oz orange juice.

7. The Red Ruby

Price: $950

Ruby Red is a pricey cocktail sold at Chicago nightclub Reserve. The Ruby Red is a blend of Hypnotiq cognac, Grey Goose orange vodka, Dom Perignon champagne, Pama pomegranate liqueur and orange juice. Ruby Red Cocktail includes a one carat A-grade ruby. Ruby Red boasts seventh position among the most expensive cocktails.

Ingredients: Grey Goose L’Orange vodka, Hypnotiq cognac, Orange juice, Pama, a pomegranate liqueur, a splash of Dom Perignon champagne.

8. Magie Noir


Place: Umbaba Nightclub

City: London

Price: $630

Umbaba club which is situated in the West End of London offers a cocktail called Magie Noir (Black Magic). It comes with a 24-karat white-gold cocktail pin created by top jewellery designer Tom Binns. The drink contains: one shot of Richard Hennessy cognac, a measure of Dom Pérignon vintage champagne, a dash of Crème de Mure, fresh lemon grass, lychees, extract of Yohimbine. Umbaba claims 8th position among the top 10 most expensive cocktails.

Ingredients: Richard Hennessy cognac, Dom Perignon vintage champagne, Créme de mure blackberry liqueur, Lemon grass and lychees, extract of yohimbe bark.

9. Bentley Sidecar


Place: The London NYC

City: New York

Price: $550

This drink is available upon request. This drink features Hennessy Ellipse super premium cognac–poured from a decanter, which is specially designed by Tomas Bastide, a designer at Baccarat–and Grand Marnier 150. What else to say about it? It stands as 9th most expensive cocktail in the world.

10. The Ritz Side Car


Place: Bar Hemingway at the Hotel Ritz

City: Paris

Price: $515

The Ritz Side Car features some of the oldest cognac in the world, made from grapes that were on the vine before the devastating phylloxera infestation of the 1860s. Nowadays only a few bottles remain. Over the past three years, the Ritz has sold approximately 60 of these drinks. Have this in your car, and you will be having 10th most expensive cocktail of the world.

Ingredients: 1830 Ritz Reserve cognac, Cointreau, a drop of freshly squeezed lemon.
